The Gordon Hospital Foundation

Since its establishment in 1985, the Gordon Hospital Foundation Board has actively supported Gordon Hospital in many fundraising activities. From helping raise money for new equipment to helping fund building expansions, the Foundation is key in helping the hospital continue providing needed and valuable medical services to the Calhoun/Gordon County community.

Some major fundraising endeavors have included the following:

  • helping purchase a mammography unit
  • helping secure the addition of Emergency Center and intensive care unit cardiac monitoring systems
  • purchase of a sterotactic breast biopsy unit.

Major fundraising expansion and renovation projects include:

  • "Operation Emergency" Emergency Center expansion
  • the Chapel and Garden of Hope additions
  • New Beginnings Maternity Center
  • Raising more than $800,000 to offset costs for a 75,000 square foot addition to the hospital in 2004.
  • Emergency Center which opened in May 2008

In addition to helping secure these types of funds, the Foundation is proud to have established the Nursing/Allied Health Scholarship Endowment Fund for students interested in the healthcare field. Students apply for money with the agreement that they will come back to the Calhoun/Gordon County community to work for a designated amount of time. Other Foundation endowment funds include the Gordon Hospital Foundation Endowment Fund and the Capital Campaign Fund. Contributions to these funds may be made at any time.
