Our fully equipped surgical facilities include 17 outpatient surgery suites, a total of four general surgical suites, a dedicated suite for Caesarean section births, a comprehensive gastro-intestinal laboratory, specialized equipment for orthopedic and other specialized procedures, and a 10-bed recovery unit. Our team of board certified surgeons includes orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, the area’s only surgical oncologist and surgeons specializing in OB/GYN, ENT, opthamology and urology. In addition, Gordon Hospital is the only hospital in the region to offer image-guided sinus surgery. Many procedures are performed on a routine basis such as laparoscopic, orthopedic, urologic, ophthalmic and endoscopic surgeries, do not require an overnight stay.
Gordon Hospital is recognized as a leader in providing excellent surgical care, and we are totally committed to making every patient’s surgical experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Our nurses, chaplain and other staff members work as a team to meet all of the patient’s needs. That’s why our support for surgical patients doesn't stop with physicians and facilities. It extends to every aspect of the patient’s stay. We appreciate the fact that patients who are having procedures or surgery require special attention to help deal with the extra anxiety they are experiencing.
The image-guided sinus system, makes navigation of the sinuses easier than ever before for Gordon Hospital surgeons. The system utilizes a three-dimensional computerized tomography (CT) scan of the patient’s sinuses, which is displayed on a computer in real time throughout the surgery. The technology facilitates a more aggressive approach to sinus surgery, while keeping risk of injury to surrounding structures to a minimum. As a result, surgery for chronic sinus disease is safer and more successful.
Surgical Cancer Solutions
As home to the area’s only fellowship-trained surgical oncologist, Gordon Hospital is able to offer patients comprehensive support as they face the many decisions involved in combating cancer. The availability of both surgery and medical oncological solutions such as chemotherapy makes it possible for many patients to obtain the full regimen of cancer treatment they need at Gordon Hospital.
