Scholarship Program

Have you been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program? Would you like to consider working for Gordon Hospital, a family-focused and Christ-centered facility?

If you answered yes to the questions above, then please apply for the nursing/allied health scholarship program sponsored by the Gordon Hospital Foundation Board. The scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $2,000.

Criteria for Participation

  • Must already be accepted or enrolled into Nursing/Allied Health School
  • Must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Must agree to work for Gordon Hospital in an RN or Allied Health capacity, following passing Boards, per the scholarship agreement.

Q.   What is the Gordon Hospital Foundation Nursing or Allied Health Scholarship?
A.   It is a scholarship open to students in nursing, medical and laboratory technology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiological technology and other allied health fields.

Q.   Who is eligible?
A.   Anyone who is currently enrolled, already accepted, or applying to an approved school.

Q.   How much is the scholarship for?
A.   The usual amount for nursing is $1,000-$2,000, but it is flexible.

Q.   How is the student selected?
A.   Criteria includes: academics, extracurricular activities, financial needs, a written paragraph describing why you want to be a health care professional, three letters of reference, and a personal interview. Preference is given to residents of Gordon County, current Gordon Hospital employees, and those who agree to work at Gordon Hospital upon graduation.

Q.   What obligation does the scholarship recipient have?
A.   To complete the academic requirements and to keep the Foundation informed on their academic status, current address and phone number. Upon graduation, the student agrees to work for Gordon Hospital in a RN or Allied Health capacity, following passing Boards, per the scholarship agreement.

Q.   When is the deadline?
A.    Monday, April 7, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

Q.   What happens after I send in the application?
A.   The scholarship committee will review your application to determine your eligibility. Finalists will be called to make arrangements for a personal interview.

2.   Mail completed application, school transcripts, and letters of recommendation to Judy Jackson, Gordon Hospital Foundation, PO Box 304, Calhoun, GA 30703-0304 by April 7, 2008. Late entries will not be accepted.

The scholarship committee will review your application to determine your eligibility. Financial need, ability, character, and educational qualifications will factor into the selection process.
