Gordon EMS Earns Awards

(Calhoun, Ga)— Gordon EMS recently collected two awards from the annual Georgia Region 1 EMS Awards Banquet held at Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun, Ga.

Out of  23 service providers in the Northwest Georgia region, Gordon Emergency Medical Services (EMS), owned by Gordon Hospital, was named “2007 Service of the Year”. This is an elite award that Gordon won prior in 2001, and started the process for state and national recognition.

A few of the representatives of Gordon EMS were on hand to receive the Georgia Region 1 Service of the Year award. Pictured left to right, starting with the back row: Operations Supervisor Jeff Putnam; Paramedic/RN Susan Reeve; Paramedic Chanda Gravitt; Administrative Assistant Sharon Smith; Paramedic Marcus Desmond; Paramedic/Assistant Shift Supervisor Mark Bramblett; Emergency Medical Technician Ben Miller; Paramedic Nancy Dill; Paramedic Michael Payne; Emergency Medical Technician Paul Walker; Emergency Medical Technician Derek Harp; members of the Explorer Post Program Amy Garner, Michael Wilson, and Cryss Ellison.

Beyond the service award, Gordon EMS employee Ben Miller was chosen from a pool of  nominees from the 16 counties in Region 1, and named 2007 Emergency Medical Technician of the Year.

 

Prior to this award, Miller was selected by his peers as 2007 Gordon EMS Emergency Medical Technician of the Year.

 

 

Also selected by his co-workers, Gordon EMS Paramedic Marcus Desmond was named 2007 Gordon EMS Paramedic of the Year.

 

 

“These award recipients exemplify our mission and are providing excellent care in the field of emergency medical services,” said Bud Owens, Gordon Hospital Administrative Director of Emergency Services.
