(Calhoun, Ga)— Gordon EMS recently collected two awards from the annual Georgia Region 1 EMS Awards Banquet held at Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun, Ga.

Out of  23 service providers in the Northwest Georgia region, Gordon Emergency Medical Services (EMS), owned by Gordon Hospital, was named “2007 Service of the Year”. This is an elite award that Gordon won prior in 2001, and started the process for state and national recognition.

A few of the representatives of Gordon EMS were on hand to receive the Georgia Region 1 Service of the Year award. Beyond the service award, Gordon EMS employee Ben Miller was chosen from a pool of  nominees from the 16 counties in Region 1, and named 2007 Emergency Medical Technician of the Year.

Prior to this award, Miller was selected by his peers as 2007 Gordon EMS Emergency Medical Technician of the Year.

Also selected by his co-workers, Gordon EMS Paramedic Marcus Desmond was named 2007 Gordon EMS Paramedic of the Year.
