Patient Meals

Because nutrition is an important part of your recovery, our dieticians prepare a variety of menus according to your doctor’s instructions. Each day, you’ll select from a menu for service the next day. If your doctor wishes you to adhere to a special diet once you have left the hospital, one of our dieticians can explain your new eating plan and how you can adapt it to your lifestyle. If lab tests or x-rays delay your meal time, the nursing staff will see that you are served after you return to your room. Nourishment rooms are available on each nursing unit. A variety of beverages and snacks are provided to patients only.

Guest Trays

Parents staying with a child (12 years of age or younger) will receive one complimentary meal per day for as long as the guest remains in the hospital. Case Management will evaluate each individual case when more than one meal is requested. Additional meals can be ordered when the cafeteria is closed; all meals must be paid in advance at the following prices:

Breakfast $3.50
Lunch $4.50
Dinner $4.50

The person receiving a request for a cafeteria meal will notify the requesting party of the cost associated with that meal. Please pay the dietary aide that delivers the food tray.

Visitor Dining

The cafeteria, called The Spice Rack, is located on the ground floor and can be reached by taking the elevator and following the signs. It is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both meat and vegetarian entrees are served. A microwave oven is also available for use. The Spice Rack is available for family, visitors, and Gordon Hospital staff during the following times.

Breakfast 8:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (not on weekends or holidays)
Lunch 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Vending machines are available next to the Emergency Center waiting area, in the New Beginnings Maternity Center, and next to the PCU/CDU lobby.

Coffee

Complimentary coffee is available in the cafeteria from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and in the PCU/CDU vending area.
