We all deserve a healthy, fulfilling life in body, mind, and spirit. So when you’re faced with challenges, AdventHealth Gordon, formerly Gordon Hospital, is here to help you reach your wellness goals. Our elderly and underprivileged neighbors in the Gordon County area can access our popular free community health-education classes, special clinical and non-clinical programs, and spiritual resources along with financial assistance for medical expenses.

All of our neighbors are invited to join our free or low-cost health education classes and support groups, where they can learn healthier habits, discover ways to move through a new life transition, or simply spend time with others who have similar life experiences. It all works toward creating healthier and happier communities and is all part of AdventHealth's mission to provide whole-person care for every one of our neighbors.

Childbirth Education and Breastfeeding Classes

Resources for Expecting Parents

These free classes are for patients who are delivering at AdventHealth Gordon's The Baby Place. During childbirth education classes, parents will learn what to expect before, during and after birth to build their confidence. Breastfeeding classes are taught by AdventHealth Gordon lactation counselors. Classes are an excellent opportunity to be with other moms, make new friends and learn about the various stages of breastfeeding.

Diabetes Management Classes

Free Resources for Living with Diabetes

Designed to provide information and education to those diagnosed with diabetes, the free class covers topics such as blood glucose monitoring, diabetic risk reduction, living an active life, medication review, healthy eating, problem-solving and healthy coping.

The Joint Program

Education for Patients Preparing for a Joint Replacement

The Joint Program includes education about total knee arthroplasty, total hip arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty using the anterior approach. This free class was designed to provide patients with what they need to know before, during and after joint replacement surgery.

Knowing that you're not alone, knowing that there are others who understand your feelings and your pain, these are powerful components of the healing process. You will find that the support you get from someone else who has experienced what you're going through is invaluable.

  • Beautiful You Program

    Beautiful You is a program dedicated to supporting women as they go through cancer treatment by nurturing body, mind and spirit. It provides patients with wigs and turbans free of charge to help patients feel more like themselves, and a makeup representative speaks to patients about skincare and makeup application.

  • Cancer and Caregiver Support Group

    Designed for cancer survivors, cancer patients currently undergoing treatment and cancer caregivers, this group provides an avenue where you can discuss your treatment, feelings, fears and joys with others who have faced, and are facing, the same battle. This group also provides support by sharing experiences and fears that a cancer diagnosis brings.
