Gordon EMS, along with the Calhoun Fire Department, Calhoun Police Department, Gordon County Sheriff's Department, Georgia State Patrol, Gordon County Fire, Gordon County Coroner's Office, Gordon County E-911, Gordon County EMA, and Life Force, participated in the prom crash reenactment for the seniors of Calhoun High School, Sonoraville High School, and Gordon Central High School.
On Thursday, April 20. As these students head into prom season, this event is to educate them about prom night safety. The prom crash reenactment shows the aftermath and consequences of driving under the influence. Emergency personnel staged a car accident, and students played the roles of those in the accident. Emergency personnel then went through the motions of what would happen if it were a real accident. This annual event is meant to show students the reality of what could happen while driving impaired and to help them make the right decisions for their lives.
