Five Gordon Hospital employees recently expanded their education by earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in their area of expertise.
Pete Weber, president and CEO of Gordon Hospital, congratulated the employees on their accomplishments.
“On behalf of Gordon Hospital, I am pleased to offer my congratulations to these employees for achieving this milestone in their lives,” Weber said. “We understand and appreciate all the hard work that went into achieving these academic goals.”
Gordon Hospital employees who recently earned degrees include Jessica Arnold, Jeana Handley, Selina Morgan, Pamela Puckett, and Raina Sanford.
Jessica Arnold, BS RRT, of Armuchee recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory care from Independent University. Previously, she studied at California College and Coosa Valley Technical College to obtain her associates degree. “Completing requirements for my Bachelor’s Degree is a great way for me to further my career,” she said. Arnold, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for 12 years, is the clinical coordinator for the cardiopulmonary department. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, walking, spending time with her family, and traveling.
Jeana Handley, BSN, RN, of Sugar Valley recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of West Georgia. Previously, she received her associate’s degree in nursing from Chattanooga State University. “I am very fortunate to have been blessed with the opportunity to achieve a lifelong goal and look forward to a diverse career in nursing,” Handley said of her recent accomplishment. Handley, who works in the outpatient surgery department, has been employed by Gordon Hospital for nine years. She is the mother of two boys, Gavin, 9, and Conner, 7, and enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, hiking, and running in her spare time.
Selina Morgan, BSN, RN, of Plainville recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of West Georgia. Previously, she received her associate’s degree in nursing from Dalton State College. “I am very thankful to be able to complete my BSN,” Morgan said. “I’m glad I decided to finish it now while my son is still a toddler so that he won’t remember all the late hours and time away from him.” Morgan has been employed by Gordon Hospital for 10 years and works in the outpatient surgery department. She is married to Donny Morgan and has a son, Tripp. Her parents are Jerry and Pam Gravitt. In her spare time, she enjoys art, being outdoors, and loves spending time with her family. "I really enjoy working here at Gordon Hospital and look forward to advancement and job opportunities," Morgan added.
Pamela Puckett, RN, BSN, of Chatsworth, recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of West Georgia. In 1983, she received her associate’s degree in nursing from South Georgia College in Douglas. “Obtaining my BSN has been a goal since finishing my ASN,” Puckett said. “It has been satisfying to finally complete this step in my education.” Puckett has been employed at Gordon Hospital for seven years and works in the outpatient surgery department. She is married to Edwin Puckett and has two children, Nathan, 26, and Natalie, 24. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, teaching Sunday school, sewing, and loves spending time with her family and friends.
Raina Sanford, MBA, director of radiology for Gordon Hospital, received her Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Management from Brenau University. Previously, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in radiologic services from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. She has been
