Jessica Renner has been awarded Gordon Hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award. Renner is an employee in the hospital’s nutritional services department.
This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.
Renner, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for just over one year, said, "I am beyond blessed to receive this award. It really means a lot to me to work at an organization where hard work is appreciated."
"Jessica is one of the strongest employees in our department. I am extremely blessed to have her as part of my team," said Andrew Punchard, director of nutritional services at Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center. "She is able to work to a very high standard without supervision, and I know that she cares about our patients."
A Gordon Central High School class of 2005 graduate, Renner and her husband of 11 years, Nathan, reside in Calhoun. They have two daughters, Breanna and Chloe Jean, and two dogs, Rusty and Lucky.
She enjoys being outdoors, including boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and riding motorcycles. "When I am outdoors, I feel closer to God," said Renner.
"I am truly blessed to be an employee at Gordon and to work around such amazing people," said Renner.
