(Calhoun, Ga) — Gordon Hospital officials are pleased to announce the appointment of eight new members to the Foundation Board.
The Gordon Hospital Foundation Board is comprised of local citizens dedicated to enhancing the bond between the hospital and the community by promoting a positive public image, as well as charitable giving to assist the hospital in its continuous effort to provide excellent patient care.
“The Gordon Hospital Foundation has always been blessed to have strong members of our community to take the time to assist us in our mission,” said Judy Jackson, director of development services for the hospital. “These new additions are certainly no exception, and we are very thankful to have them serve on our board.”
The new members, who were appointed to serve a two-year term, are:
Barry Benton is a local attorney and graduate of Davidson College, University of Kentucky Law, and Emory Law School. He and his wife, Sandy, have two sons.
Brian Brannon, clerk of Superior Court for Gordon County and graduate of the University of Georgia Carol Vinson Institute of Government. He is a member of Georgia Superior Court Clerks Association, Georgia Records Association, and Constitutional Officers Association. He was appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue in 2008 as a board member to the Superior Court Clerks Retirement Fund of Georgia. He and his wife, Melissa, have two daughters.
Missy Hathcox is a stay-at-home mother of three boys. She received a bachelor-of-science degree in education from the University of Georgia and is a member of the Calhoun Woman’s Club, Family Resource Center, and Calhoun First United Methodist Preschool Board. She is married to Alan Hathcox.
Nathan T. Murphy is assistant Vice President/Branch Manager at Northside Bank. He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and the chairman of Gordon County Young Professionals. He and his wife, Tara, have one son.
Dr. Bill McCown is superintendent of Gordon County Schools. He received his bachelor-of-science degree from the University of Georgia, his master-of-education degree from the State University of West Georgia College, and his doctorate in education from Auburn University. He is a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Georgia Association of Educators, and the Georgia School Superintendent Association. He and his wife, Christy, have three children.
Carol Nance is CEO of Nance Carpet & Rug, Inc. She is a graduate of Patricia Stevens Modeling School and is a member of BB&T Bank Advisory Board, Secretary/Treasurer of BTN & Associates, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, Gordon County Historical Society Board, and a member and supporter of various charities in Calhoun and Haiti. She and her husband, Bob, have three children.
Renee Theus is a stay-at-home mom and an inactive registered nurse. She is a graduate of Dalton State College, a member of Calhoun Woman’s Club, and a Big Brother/Big Sister volunteer. She is married to Will and has one son and three stepdaughters.
