(Calhoun, Ga) — Time is a precious resource, and these days it seems everyone has less and less of it to waste.
Perhaps no one understands this better than Gordon Hospital. In an effort to help reduce patient waiting times, two self-service kiosks were recently installed in the Outpatient Registration area.
“These kiosks will certainly help reduce wait times by allowing patients to quickly and easily check themselves in without having to wait for a registrar,” said Brandon McDaniel, registration manager for Gordon Hospital. “The kiosks will also help us ensure a higher accuracy of patient data by allowing them the chance to review and correct their information right then and there.”
For those patients who are technologically-challenged or find themselves a bit intimidated by new technology, McDaniel assures that patient access representatives will be available to assist those who wish to use the kiosks, as well as those who choose to register for procedures face-to-face.
“The kiosks may be used by any scheduled patient or walk-ins needing lab work performed,” McDaniel explained. “This is just one more way in which Gordon Hospital continues to improve patient services and care.”
Nancy Kelley of Fairmount was the very first person to use the new registration kiosk at Gordon Hospital. Registration officials presented her with a hospital gift bag to mark the occasion.
“It was very simple to use,” Kelley said. “The registrars that assisted me were very sweet and very helpful.”
Anyone wishing to know more about the kiosks should contact McDaniel at 706-602-7800, ext. 4751.
“The kiosks will be more effective and time efficient if patients are pre-registered for services or procedures,” McDaniel added. “The members of our pre-registration department work very hard to expedite services that our patients need.”
